iLive Clock Radio is one sexy-looking iPhone dock

Most iPhone docks don't do very much with the phone - you just leave it on to charge for the night and that's about it. Well, that's where the iLive Clock Radio Dock comes into play. The dock comes with a clock face that's missing the 12, and when the iPhone is plugged in, it displays the 12 and the clock hands with the use of an app. Charging your iPhone and turning it into a clock at the same time is a pretty great idea.

Unfortunately, a clock designed in this way means that without the iPhone it is pretty useless. But hey - so are other docks - at least this one gives you the added benefit of an analog clock and it's more functional than the wooden iPhone 4 alarm dock. The iLive Clock Radio Dock is available now for $49.99 from the iLive website.

It's No "Game of Thrones" Finale, but Yahoo Logo-Palooza Ends Tonight

Yahoo-Logo-feature

Here are a few choice things I wait for in rapt anticipation:

While "Game of Thrones" is on hiatus after its sensational "Red Wedding" finale, the next episode of "Orange Is the New Black" - which spouse and I are watching two at a time nightly, although I am considering sneaking by day to find out what Pornstache will do to Red.

The new iPhone, which will be unveiled next Tuesday at Apple's Cupertino, Calif. HQ - because I will upgrade to it, my older son will get my old one and my younger son will get his brother's old one as his first phone ever (it's a family of impatience over here).

Whenever anyone says they are "gladiators in suits" on "Scandal" or whenever its star, Kerry Washington as Washington fixer Olivia Pope, gives that long, sad gaze that comes from loving the wrong man who also happens to be President of the United States.

The Oreo version of Google Android - because I like Oreos. A lot more than KitKats.

And even - and I am ashamed to admit this - whatever the next cup-full-of-crazy thing Miley Cyrus gets into.

But, I'll be honest - except for the fact that I have to cover it at the time I would have been watching my daily dose of "OITNB" tonight - I will have to drastically gin up my excitement level over the new Yahoo logo that is set to be unveiled at 9 pm PT.

Doubtless, others have been pre-briefed on this new look, which was last changed a few years ago. But, for the rest of us, over the last month Yahoo has been showing 29 other logos it will not be using to get us all atwitter with expectation.

While I still don't quite get this move from a marketing perspective - it's like having a parade of all the people you decided not to marry before your wedding - there have been some design doozies in the bunch. That might have been the point: Show off all the bad so we will love, love, love the new one.

On that score, mission accomplished!

Such as this one from Day 2 that looks like an air freshener I declined to purchase last week at Safeway:

ku-medium

Or this one from Day 11, which looks like my grandmother, who had excellent cursive penmanship, wrote it (nothing says the future like a handwritten logo from the last century!):

ku-medium

Or Day 20, which resembles what happens when I let those kids of mine play on my computer and they screw up the fonts:

ku-medium

Or Day 28, which is pretty much a flat-out lift of the Yoo-hoo logo, a high-fructose corn syrup beverage I enjoy imbibing from time to time:

ku-medium-2

Finally, I really don't have one single clue about what's going on with Day 29:

ku-medium

Which, I think, is the goal of the marketers of Yahoo - after this parade of losers, we shall now get to gaze upon the gleaming new spouse that the Silicon Valley Internet giant will be wedded to for years to come. This jazz-hands rollout is very much in keeping with the tenure of new CEO Marissa Mayer, who is trying to generate as much excitement around Yahoo as possible as part of her turnaround efforts.

Presumably, this logo for the new Yahoo will be just the ticket! We'll see - but, until then, I am going to go and see what Crazy Eyes is up to, which is one sure thing to be interesting.

Review: Soundprism Electro Mini—Make Your Own Tunes with Ease!

Audanika has developed several trippy music applications that turn your iPad or iPhone into a synth and MIDI powerhouse. The coolest part is that even without musical training or ability, you are still likely to be able to bang out a better than passable melody just by selecting a few random tiles in the app, and it's engrossing and fun to try! Read on to learn how the new SoundPrism Electro Mini ($2.99) brings more synth magic to your iPhone!

We have reviewed SoundPrism before, and now Audanika has recently released Electro Mini for iPhone with a few noteworthy new features! The idea is very much like the original SoundPrism. It works better than can be explained in the screenshots (see video below). I am primarily a guitar player, though I have poked around on the keys for years. I have enough technique to mostly just embarrass myself, and the hardest part is coordinating left and right hand on all those keys. ALL THOSE DARN KEYS!

SoundPrism alleviates the pesky detail of hitting a certain selection of keys with two hands by automagically clustering the note selections into a serenely tuned chord around the tile you select. A spot on the rolling multidimensional keys will instantly map the correct accompanying notes. You can use the bass keys for emphasis and set a cadence and it's really easy to get the knack. With the advent of the Electro version for iPad, a sliding controller allows you to manually control the low-pass filter effects provided in the app. Other improvements in the interface make it a bit more flexible than the originals and you can also integrate with Mac or PC audio tools as it supports Core MIDI as in other versions.

Electro Mini is insanely cool, but one complaint I have is that if you want to record or mix in tracks, you need other apps for that, such as the $4.99 Audiobus app. It would be nice to have a few backing beats and a simple record feature built in already. The help feature is well done, but I think it could use a few examples of each feature in action for music newbs.

Pros

  • Superior synth sounds
  • Intuitive interface for easy music creation

Cons

Not many, but could use a simple record feature and better examples of some features

Final Verdict

SoundPrism has been endorsed by Jordan Rudess, legendary virtuoso keyboardist for Dream Theater. It remains one of our favorite music apps as well, and the new Electro Mini version is worth having on your iPhone!

iPhone Life Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Chair Entertainment Founder: "I Cannot Wait" for Physical Controllers for iPhones

mustard ib3

At Apple's iPhone 5c/5s event on Tuesday, Chair Entertainment co-founder and creative director Donald Mustard debuted Infinity Blade 3, the newest game in the popular iOS sword-fighting series. Naturally, he's making the rounds this week to talk about the new game and how it takes advantage of the iPhone's hardware ... but that's not stopping him from hinting at more to come.

Mustard characterized Infinity Blade 3 as a "statement" of the power of touchscreen design, saying the series "spawned a whole new genre of game." However, absent from the iPhone event this week was an update on how iOS 7 will support physical game controller peripherals, one of the features mentioned at this year's WWDC keynote.

Mustard said he's excited for that eventuality.

"I cannot wait for the day when we can make a mobile game that's supported by a more traditional controller," he said.

He said fans have asked him when Chair would make a touchscreen version of one of its pre-Infinity Blade games, Shadow Complex. The answer: never!

"Shadow Complex wouldn't be good with touchscreen controls," Mustard said, adding that Infinity Blade would not work as well on Xbox. If Chair makes a mobile game for a physical controller peripheral, he said, it "would want to design the experience from the ground up."

It would also be possible to have a mobile game that combines both forms of control, he mused.

In the meantime, though, Infinity Blade 3 at least looked good in Mustard's demo. The battle he showed off on the iPhone 5s featured an imposing and smoothly animated dragon, which was far larger than the game series' previous bosses. Although the dragon will look best on the 5s, it and other animations in the game will still look "awesome" on the iPhone 4, Mustard said, calling the latter device "still pretty damn powerful."

IB3 will cost $6.99 when it goes on sale for iOS devices on Sept. 20, timed to the launch of the 5c and 5s.

Google+ for iPhone coming within days

Dedicated iOS app on the way

Google's Google+ for iPhone app should be landing in the App Store within the next 2 weeks according to the big G, after confirming that it has submitted the app to Apple for approval.

The new app, which only works for those who have access to the new closed beta service, promises to give Google+ users the chance to catch up on their new found friends and the social network from a dedicated app rather than just the mobile website currently available.

Googler Erica Joy made it very clear in a post on Google+:

"For my iPhone using friends: the Google+ iPhone app has been submitted to the App store (no not today, sometime prior to today) and is awaiting approval."

Of course there is no guarantee that Apple will approve the app as is. Many question whether or not the Cupertino-based company will allow the app to upload photos in the background, something no other app to our knowledge does.

The Android version of the Google+ app gives you full control over the new social network as well as offering other features like automatically adding people to your Contacts book and letting you "Huddle", two other features that might not make it to the iOS version.

Are you looking forward to the iPhone app? Let us know.

Who’s winning the race?

iPhone gaming app

If you're an app developer, looking out to build an iPhone app and you're like one of us stumbling through diversified ideas, scrolling through categories and stranding with an indecisive situation then let's just sort out everything here. Fist thing first - idea ought to be the first thing to get your hold on before taking off for the development. Before you start pondering about an idea and delve into which category your app is going to reside, here's what Distimo, mobile app analytics startup, discovered for us.

Distimo, from its extensive research over mobile apps just figured out about what's going hot in the App store, and undoubtedly it has to be "Games". According to the research, 58% of all the 150,000 apps in the app store are games. So this was the reason why Apple further segmented gaming apps into price, category and the most selling games.

Diving deeper into details, Distimo sorts out that "puzzle" ranks highest in the gaming category with 15% of the apps, while "action" and "arcade" come second with 11% apps. Those who thought that people don't pay for games, stats prove them wrong. Average price for a paid app game on app store is $2.24, while the RPG's may cost as high as $7.96 on an average. If that sounds expensive as a user then you may go for action and arcade that cost $1.5 on average, but as developers this is where you can invest for returns.

Grossing apps are already taking lead in most of the categories, and for gaming too; 22% of them are action, 12% arcade and 9% adventure. Another most interesting bit found out by Distimo was that in-app purchases are doing well. According to the reports, Tap Tap Revenge outdid itself in January after it was available for free with in-app purchasable songs as compared to FIFA 2010 Soccer game, that was available for $6.99.

Looking at the explorations about iPhone apps from the startup, gaming apps is one spot where developers can make their fortune. Moreover instead of going for paid apps, in-app purchasing is a better way to go about the whole idea. Let the app be free initially, let people engage with the app and later levels may be unlocked against money or virtual goods may be bought out within the app.

App battle continues in App store

battle in app store

The iPhone is most definitely a consumer-oriented product with the expandability of countless iPhone applications and accessories. The fight for SXSW is now over, Apple fairly declared winner in the "Location War" with the huge amount of exposure in the App store. The trend augments as Apple highlights many others in the App store under, "What's Hot".

Apple notifies five worthwhile apps in "What's hot?" on App store, whereas iTunes version app locates their own area under "News & Noteworthy". The five apps take up the top slot of the "What's Hot" that is simply put to the huge promotion. The mystery continues to uncover these five apps, but the fact is that you are very familiar with them, and almost access their location supported servers consecutively. The apps are enlisted as:

    1. Being top most is Foursquare.
    2. Gowalla fighting the war on second.
    3. Loopt didn't back off from the battle, and stands third.
    4. Whrrl 3 queue in the line for fourth position, promising better opportunity.
    5. Last but not the least in the battle is MyTown, engaging users effectively.

It's beyond doubt; if being featured in the App store will make or break the app developer's efforts to succeed or not - it will obviously! Up till now the two foremost nominees Foursquare and Gowalla are already leveraging their businesses from Apple's ability to locate the best niche in App Store.

The top most iPhone app in what's hot? Foursquare is most likely to engage almost 100,000 new users in just 10 days after being featured in the App store. This type of growth may actually continue as long as Apple keeps featuring the app.

Apple's New Ad Grabs One of Rock's Best Songs

There's a new Apple ad. It's for the iPhone 5c. No need to say much.

But since you are still here, here's the source file for the ad's soundtrack, via Sleigh Bells' 2010 "Rill Rill":

Still here? All right! Now things get really good, because you get to hear the source file for "Rill Rill," courtesy of Funkadelic. For some reason, this 1971 song got renewed life in the last few years.* Which is great, because it's one of the best songs ever:

Ah. Okay. Denouement time. Here's the ad Apple ran another time it took a thing that was popular and made it available in different colors:

      * Probably because of Sleigh Bells, I guess? But it showed up on a lot of TV and movie soundtracks.

Apple Offers Legacy Apps for Old iPhones and iPads

      last_compatible_app

      9to5Mac

When it debuts tomorrow, iOS 7 - the next generation of Apple's mobile operating system - will support only the iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini and the fifth-generation iPod touch. But it's not abandoning the older devices that can't run the new platform.

Apple this week updated its App Store to allow users running older versions of iOS to install legacy versions of apps that are compatible with them. Now, when you attempt to download an app that's no longer supported by your current firmware, instead of getting a "this requires iOS 7 prompt, the device offers to download the "last compatible version" of that app.

Great news for owners of older iPhones and iPads, which will now see the lifespan of those devices extended. Good news for developers, too; now they don't have to worry much about excluding older devices. And a savvy marketing move for Apple, which by rolling out this "last compatible version" feature is offering its customers the assurance that their devices can continue to run their favorite apps even after they've aged out of the latest iOS update.

Update: Okay. Maybe not as great news for developers as I'd thought.

How to Launch a New Photo App: Wait for iOS 7 Launch, Try to Get Featured. Then Hope.

      memoir

Another new photo-sharing app? In 2013? Really?

Yup, really. But say this for the team behind Memoir, which is launching today: While sharing photos is a component of what their app does, it's not solely a photo-sharing app. It's more of a photo-storage and filing service, with ambitions to move someday beyond photos into other personal data.

Which is good, because it sure seems like the photo-sharing app space is full up, though people are still trying to prove otherwise.

Memoir was co-founded by Lee Hoffman and Angela Kim, and is a pivot out of Veri, a TechStars education startup they launched in 2011. They raised $1.2 million for that project from backers including BetaWorks and SV Angel, and used much of that to move into Memoir; they're also finishing a new funding round.

You can get a sense of what they're trying to do with Memoir in the video below, but if you want a very short sentence, it would be: TimeHop mashed up with Photo Stream.

More sentences: Memoir checks the metadata for pictures you have on your phone, plus those you upload to Facebook and other services (if you let it), and organizes them by date and location; it will also try to figure out who you were with when you took the photo. Then it stores all the images on its servers, and lets you access them whenever you want; it assumes your photos are private, and will only share them with friends if you ask.

The service is free now, and the company hopes to introduce a freemium model that will give you access to goodies like higher-resolution images, etc. One day, Hoffman and Kim can see Memoir storing and filing things that aren't photos.

For now, they're just hoping to pick up some momentum from today's Apple's iOS 7 launch.

They've held the launch of their app until this afternoon, with Apple's encouragement, in the hope that they get featured in Apple's App Store. There's no guarantee that they'll get that attention, and even if they do, a feature slot at the App Store is no guarantee of success.

But it sure would be nice to show up today, when lots of you are going to be spending lots of time there.

Introducing Memoir from Memoir on Vimeo.

      iPhone 5 concept looks sleek

Speculations are up in the air to when the next iPhone will be released, the features it's going to have and most importantly - how it should look like. A lot of people believe that Apple will be keeping the design of the iPhone 4, while others believe that it's going to have a dramatic facelift. Antoine Brieux of NAK Studio recently came up with his own ideas of what the iPhone 5 would look like, and boy it sure looks sleek.

In some ways it reminds me of an elongated iPod Nano (due to the colored aluminum and shape of the bezel) but that isn't a bad thing since I thought the iPod Nano looked pretty good in the first place. But if the next iPhone 5 looks this good or even better - it's going to have no trouble selling (not that it would have any trouble in the first place). What do you think of this iPhone 5 concept design?

      And the magic continues…

      iPhone SDK tool

You are very familiar with the long story behind iPhone's new operating system 4.0. Multitasking sprung up in the OS 4.0 launch event, while all the do's and don'ts will be clearly defined in the WWDC event, planned on 7th June, 2010. Event will help to bridge the ends between iPhone app developers and Apple's engineers.

Multitasking was the most desired feature in the iPhone operating system. All the developers and users waited impatiently to see it on the list. The user interface of OS4.0 is amazingly designed with seven different multitasking APIs, including background audio, voice over IP (VOIP), background location, push notifications, local notifications, task completion, and fast app switching. Multitasking adds a new feature in its user interface, which appears to be a widget like thing.

The newly designed user interface of OS4.0 lets you to flick the left of your first window of open apps and there you go with a few new icons on your iPhone screen. The new icons list as motionless iPhone icons to launch the app ASAP, iPhone music controls and Orientation lock. Just a minute! Is it revolution of the mini-widgets to the latest operating system?

The fresh feature orientation lock is just like that on the iPad which for now as an alternative is accessed through this menu. It's fun, tap it once to lock the portrait than tap it again to unlock. Apple has published its third beta version for iPhone OS4.0 and associated Software Development Kit (SDK). In this Apple has published a refinement of their operating system and developer tools initially. The features are easily accessible through a left-swipe from the multitasking "dock" manager.

Apple Patent Application Details Temporary Location-Specific iPhone Applications

      apple-iphone-lawsuit

Oh no! Apple not again. I bet you need to waste a lot of dollars on your lawyers for such stupid and so-called marketing stunts of your competitive partners in the landscape. Lastly, Nokia and AT&T happily charged a lawsuit against you, now you may be endangered by one more patent application charge. Give a break to Apple all you jealous creep!

Apple launched their very freshly applications restaurant and public library that may be another attempt of claim from any of the competitive partner in the landscape. The applications are designed for the temporary and closed enhancement to your iPhone location based applications.

The ideas are very trouble-free in contrast of Apple's techno thinking. The content are managed through a centralized server that is in actual a pair a of Wi-Fi connectors that provides appropriate information regarding the restaurant and public library to the iPhone user. The applications are further modified as:

      Restaurant:

It resolves specifically two major clauses of location based applications. It helps out user from the long waiting queue in the restaurant. Wonder you don't need to wait for your turn at any restaurant through the icon of "Wait Time". That automatically gives away a trouble-free option to wait for your turn at the restaurant through updates.

For example you wish to go at dine in your favourite Chinese restaurant but you hate those long waiting queues just log on to your iPhone and get started. You will be updated with the current timings for your turn. The second option lets you to "Place Order" that allows users to access a restaurant's menu on their device and submits their food orders in to "E" electronically and easily.

      Public Library:

As you get in your most frequently visited library, the application would automatically access you the entire library's digital database of books and other content on the search. That does not bother you to have a secure position at one of the library's linked computers. And for privacy and security terms the application would automatically disappear as the user exits from the library.

The applications are very simply designed and may not be unique but a new feature to the iPhone user's location based patent application category. It is amazing when you can have the menu of a restaurant in your handy smartphone or locate the digital positioning in your public library. The patent application is solely credited to Apple engineer Scott Herz and was filed in November 2008.

Apple's Guidance Implies New iPhone in September

      iphonecheapios7_Martin_Hajek

      Martin Hajek

Tim Cook said Apple has some great stuff coming "in the fall, and across all of 2014." But when, exactly, can we expect it? The company's latest earnings guidance may offer a clue.

For its fourth quarter, Apple said it expects revenue of $34 billion to $37 billion, with gross margins of 36 percent to 37 percent. And, according to BTIG analyst Walt Piecyk, those numbers are only possible if the company debuts some new hardware in September.

"We don't think that Apple can hit its newly issued revenue guidance for the September quarter unless it launches new products," Piecyk said in a note to clients. "After delivering $35 billion in revenue in the June quarter, management guided to $34-$37 billion next quarter. Revenue would more typically drop multiple billions if the company had no new products planned."

Apple's fourth quarter ends on Sept. 28, so if Piecyk's theory is correct, we can expect to see some of that great stuff Cook has been touting earlier that month. The device most likely to debut? Given the margin forecast, a new iPhone.

Said Piecyk, "The margin guidance also likely indicates that the new product launch this quarter will be an iPhone and not a lower margin iPad. While new iPhones are lower margin at launch, they are still higher margin than iPads."

Incidentally, Piecyk isn't the only analyst with this view. Morgan Stanley's Katy Huberty has a similar theory:

Several signs suggest that new products will ship in the September quarter.

      1. Apple provided less transparency into gross margin influences for the September quarter, seemingly to avoid pre-announcing new products.
      2. Apple provided a wider than normal revenue guidance range of $3B, noting many moving parts in the September quarter.
      3. Apple continues to talk about a "busy fall" which coincides with suppliers ramping iPhone shipments in September and iPad shipments in October.

      Apple leaves behind Microsoft

      Microsoft vs Apple

The war between the two giants never seizes. Microsoft and Apple's cold war in the market cap have been for long now, but there is something new this time. Microsoft leaded the score board with a little difference of $50 billion. The inclination and fluctuation of the shares in the market cap was unpredictable but it wasn't hard to believe that soon Apple would take over Microsoft in the score board. And Apple did it!

Finally the day is here when Apple has outdone Microsoft in the market cap with a slight difference of 1.76%. Although the stocks have been floating for long but a noticeable fact is that for the first time Apple is ahead of Microsoft. Share fluctuations are of course part of the game, and Microsoft just very well regain its position in no time but it is still great new for Apple for giving tough time to Microsoft.

Similar kind of news also floated in previous weeks. Do you remember S&P float adjustment numbers that screwed Microsoft's products against Apple's? Winning or losing it is not the justification but satisfaction to certain priorities for a limited time. Dear Microsoft, don't you worry nothing lasts forever neither you did nor Apple will. Some day some other product will replace Apple too.

It is not a matter of financial perceptions but the fight for position in the highly advanced and fast moving landscape of technology. It was from last five years that Apple was trying its best to gain over Microsoft's stock. In this timeframe Microsoft went down on its productivity and stocks, while Apple raised it by 550% with an average ratio of +4.31 in the valuation chart.

In just a month Apple is leading $3 million ahead from Microsoft and closes day with $222.07 vs. $219.18 billion. The only competitor and leader on the board is Exxon Mobil in the U.S. landscape for Apple. Apple's stock continued rising since its last beat against Walmart for the third placement in the US market capitalization, starting over from $245 and ending today with $251. The stocks increased 95% in just last 52 weeks that is actually an incredible performance from Apple.

      iOS4 making a move with 1500 APIs

      iphone-os-4

Along with the launch of iPhone 4 and the announcement of Apple Game Center, Steve's call to action was the iOS4, something we've been calling iPhone OS4. The ultimate iOS4, with the incredible "i" attached to it, comes with 1,500 new and improved development APIs, giving a drastic new change to the iPhone user interface.

We know this from the pre-launch time that multi-tasking now facilitates the new iOS4 on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Steve's considers multitasking interface works on iBooks for iPhone that will let users wirelessly download and synchronize books that also features to highlight the phrases and makes notes.

iOS4 works amazingly on iPhone4 with its add folder feature and unified email inbox that provides ceased or aligned message view. The advanced enterprise integration interface for business and its security is the additional feature for the business class user engagement. The multiplied Exchange account support is also added to iOS4 while adding up Bing to the search engine in the presence of Google and Yahoo is the hight of competitive role to the iPhone-cism.

The software development kit (SDK) of iOS4's golden version was available to the developers on the event only. It will be a free download on the iPhone 3G and 3GS but not all features will be fully supported on the devices. So get your hands on the augmented iOS 4-equipped device now!

The newly upgraded iOS 4 is able to manage your almost 2160 applications on a single device via its drag-and-drop functionality. Apple has created some signified changes to the multimedia functionality too with support to custom playlist, directly from iTunes, tap-to-focus video, 5x zoom for camera and an image feature called "Faces and Places," that allows users to sort and view photos on the basis of the place they were taken and the people pictured.

iAd is the second big thing to the iOS4 for the businesses as Steve's addresses that "iAd would engross $60 million for the year 2010." It is far beyond the expectations, isn't? Apple is currently fused with AT&T, Best Buy, Chanel, Citi Target, The Walt Disney Studios and a number of other high-profile brands for their iAd campaigns.

In all, the iPhone's new OS; iOS4, will be an amazing change to the iPhone interface and applications. Analysts will definitely be looking to study its penetration in the market now.

I'm excited for the new look, are you?

      AT&T Data Plans-An Argument

      at&t-data-plan

There's just too much to talk about the recent WWDC event. After the launch of iPhone 4, iBook Stores enhanced features and long discussion of iOS4, Steve's also highlighted the new wireless data caps from AT&T. Steve also proclaimed some new and upgraded apps at the WWDC that includes Netflix, FarmVille and Guitar Hero for iPhone and iPad, processed on high bandwidth.

It isn't a good way to utilize your AT&T data plans on these apps as the files are a bit heavier and trouble free download through WiFi or any other network. Other networks actually provide much better HSDPA or HSUPA speeds than AT&T itself.

AT&T makes a hollow claim that it is their big step for consumer saving, but in real it would be good for only those who don't use 3G data extensively. AT&T's new data plans will trouble those iPhone users who instantaneously use more data than the standard 2GB on their network carrier. ATA&T needs to improve its network's performance, instead of making changes in the data plans and banning unlimited package.

The newly surpassed data plans from AT&T are turning users conscious of their data utilization and their interactivity on app, video, music downloading and internet browsing. In addition, it is the iAds to be added to the app making, which will obviously affect the network's performance and connectivity.

Developers can now develop their applications on a light weighted HTTP steaming, introduced by Steve. It delivers video on many relevant and diverse methods to lower the bit rates in an instance, but this would still be a tough job to deal with, for the developers. Expecting a whole revision of the app development is really awful and disturbing.

I am not sure how long will the iPhone 4 with the iOS4 requires to connect through 3G data plan, while on iPhone 3GS it was hardly 50% of the time which I spent using 3G data plans, and on the iPad it is almost 90% of the time that I spent on a WiFi directly.

Moreover, the new iMovie app in iOS4 lets you edit video on HD with 720 pixel density and 30 frames per second. After making such a video I can't stay back from uploading the videos on YouTube but will AT&T's limited data plans blow out the data cap.

What is your perspective about the data plans from AT&T and the bandwidth inference of the new iPhone 4 and iOS 4? Comment to let us know.
