Tablet Landscape Looking Very Promising This Holiday Season

According to a new survey from PriceGrabber, which polled 1,475 online shoppers in late October, the number one wished for tablet this holiday season is, of course, Apple's iPad, with the mini coming in second.

When surveyed, 59 percent of respondents said they wanted a tablet. 63 percent of those said that they were hoping for a third or fourth generation iPad, while another 24 percent wanted the mini.

Of those who chose the mini, 47 percent said they liked the portability and small size, and 38 percent liked its low price tag.

While Apple's iPad did reign supreme, 22 percent of respondents claimed they would like a Samsung Galaxy Note Tab, 20 percent were hoping for an Amazon Kindle Fire HD, and 13 percent have added the Microsoft Surface to their wish lists.

The strong desire for tablets is bad news for the PC market. According to Research firm Gartner, global PC shipments dropped 8.3 percent over the last year, a trend that is only going to continue as tablet prices continue to fall.
