Apple examined carriers for the 4G performance before announcing iPhone as LTE device

Apple is ensuring that customers will get real experience with their iPhone 5, as promised by the company and in doing so, Apple is taking strong measures and directing carriers about when they can and cannot make the Smartphone's LTE features available to the subscribers. Normally, it is the carrier's companies, who scrutinise devices that whether they are meeting with networks or not, but here case is in the hands of Apple.New report floated from Telecoms.com proclaimed that once the network has cleared numbers of stringent tests, Apple will flip on 4G LTE access on iPhone 5. The news is also confirmed by the spokesperson of Swisscom. Swisscom has launched its LTE network, yet Apple does not allow them to declare LTE iPhone 5 right away, as they want to go for more test for clearing issues in carrier updated settings. The same report is backed up from the CEO and founder of NorthStream, Bengt Nordstrom. He has also heard the same policy announced by Apple.

Devices normally have to undergo carrier testing so to ensure that it is matching with the standards. In this regards, RIM is the perfect example; the makers of smartphones are promoting the fact their BB10 devices are in process of carrier test, at current moment. Apple on the other hand, is enjoying special relationship with the carriers, established and maintained from many years. The exclusive contract signed with AT&T at the time of iPhone launch has encountered that the device is launched without carrier branding and any pre loaded carrier software.

Another example of Apple's balance of power is seemed with carrier/OEM relationship. It is also encountered that no other device manufacturer is enjoying such an influence on carrier fortunes. It is however predicted that may be Samsung will also exert some influence on carriers.

In the nutshell, it is quite obvious that net benefit will be availed by Apple, since it is leaving no room to give iPhone 5 user's a real and consistent experience, regardless of the choice of network. This type of relationship may not sit well with the carrier fortunes, and it is foresee that this type of arrangement will not be sufficient enough to keep Apple on its current place.
