Does being smart mean having a flat tummy?
Apple says being smart means using iPhone. A recent patent application from Apple regarding smart bike has been approved. The application for Apple's smart bike has been published by US Patent & Trademark Office. However, the launch of the product is yet uncertain. The Apple smart bike is a treat for cyclists as it would change the way people used to cycle - It is the modern design of Smart Bike. The only issue is the project of smart bike viable for Apple?
The Apple smart bike gives a complete system for cyclists that would surely use an iPhone. The cyclists would be able to communication with each other (using same technology). That not a big deal (anyone can do that). The real stuff is that the smart bike would indicate the bicycle monitoring system on iPhone. This means you can monitor your heart beat, speed, time, distance, altitude, elevation, and incline-decline, power, derailleur setting, cadence, wind speed, path completion (mapping), expected path remaining and the overall pace of the cycler. This is too much to consider for just a bike, but that not just a bike that is smart bike.
The Apple smart bike would be utilizing various sensors which would be working in coordination with the sensors on the bike. There would be an iPhone app working behind for sure that would definitely be iOS4 compatible. Whatever Apple has planned regarding this product is not going public at least till the probability of the project is finalized. However, one thing is for sure that smart bike would bring a change in Smartphone all over.
And by the way, you can also get a flat tummy by cycling!
