The new name of BlackBerry app store is BlackBerry World By RIM before launching BB10

Before the launch of BB10, RIM has done significant change in the BlackBerry's App World. They have drooped app from the name of app store and suggesting new name as BlackBerry World. This change has been announced by RIM in the event of BlackBerry Jam American developers in October, mentioning that their store will have addition of videos and music for the users. RIM has denied to offer new name in the conference and suggested BlackBerry World name.Makers of BlackBerry are following the Google in ditching the world by excluding the word app from the mobile store. Last year, Google has evolved its Android Market as Google Plays last year and give new feel and look to the multimedia content.

In the coming weeks, BlackBerry phone and PlayBook owners will be rolled out with the new branding, declared by RIM.

RIM described that BlackBerry World store will be the one stop shop for the mobile entertainments, yet they have not mentioned that who will be providing video and music content. RIM has shared before that its offering would be limited to some regions only, so it is expected that there would be regional variation in the content.

The launch of new platform is expected in the Q1 of 2013 and for this RIM has raised morale of developers and encourages them to develop apps for this new platform, before the official announcement of BB10. VP of developer relation Mr. Alec Saunders has said that this platform will consist of 19,000 apps.
