Facebook Paper features an innovative gesture based interface to browse your Facebook Newsfeed. While it has many great animations, I really like the way it opens links:

Design Shots is a well designed Dribbble app for iPhone. The app has a lot of animations, but this circular animation to open user profiles stood out:

Storehouse is a blogging service centred around photos. Both the website as well as the iOS app are brilliantly designed, and one of the best examples of the high quality design is its custom pull to refresh animation:

Flickr was updated with an iOS 7 style interface quite sometime back, but its custom pull to refresh animation, and the way its photo filters appear is still delightful to watch:

Expedia
Expedia is a popular travel site/app that lets you make hotel reservations and book flight tickets. Just like all the other apps in this list, Expedia’s app is highly polished, and one of the most fun part of the app is the custom loader that appears while the app fetches search results:

Inbox is an app by Google that gives users a new way to see and organize their Gmail inbox. The app is based on Google’s excellent Material Design guidelines. The animation below (via Dribbble) appears when you reach zero inbox (which may not be possible if you have a very large inbox

Lush is a brilliant drink mixing app, with hundreds of recipes, search by ingredients and more. And while there are many other apps, Lush’s excellent illustrations of these drinks, and the accompanying animations make it worth its $1.99 price tag.
