Another sales milestone has been announced by Samsung as "Galaxy S Series has crossed 100 million channel sales (sales made through reseller) since its launch in May 2010." This announcement has been made through the Flickr stream- the Korean conglomerate. The sales are driven by flagship of Galaxy S3 on the larger part of the world.
Samsung Galaxy S series has remarkably surpassed the accumulated sales of 100 million units and break records from the supply side. They have reached to these remarkable numbers in just 2 years and 7 months time period, after its launch in May 2010. Also it has become million sellers in just 50 days of its launch in May. Currently, the average sales of this series are almost 19,000 units around the world. This success is attributed to the top most selling smartphone of Samsung Galaxy SII which has hit almost 40 million unit sales in just 20 months time period.
In early January, Samsung has issued its quarter 4 report and said that they have reached to consolidated profit of 8.8 billion Korean won equaling $8.3 billion with consolidated sales of 56 trillion Korean won or $53.6 billion. In previous quarter, the figures were 8.06 Korean won and last year it was 4.66 trillion Korean won. Samsung has beat its own five records in a row, but it is seems that it will not be able to enjoy higher sales in Q1 of 2013 because of weaker seasonal demand and saturation of markets in emerging countries.
However, Samsung is hoping to ship 510 million units in 2013 which is almost 20% more than the last year. They are making this betting on the basis of report issued by Gartner which has reportedly estimated the sales of Samsung near to 300 millions in 2013.
