Apple Updates iAd Producer For Mac With Twitter Integration, New iPad Support, Improved Ad Testing

Apple has released a new version of its iAd Producer application with multiple additions and fixes. Overall speed and stability for version 2.1 has improved, and features like Twitter integration, support for the third-gen iPad, improved ad testing, and more have been added.

iAd Producer makes it easy for you to design and assemble high-impact, interactive content for iAd. iAd Producer automatically manages the HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript behind your iAd to make creating beautiful, motion-rich iAd content as easy as point and click.

For advanced developers, iAd Producer offers sophisticated JavaScript editing and debugging, along with a powerful extension mechanism that enables them to create and re-use their own page templates and components.

2.1 includes improved pre-load behavior for assets in exported ad units, ad upload and testing with iOS devices connected via USB, reduced device memory usage for image views, image sprites, on-device debugging, Twitter integration with iAds, new media object support in iAd JS, WebGL assets, and more. Full support for the new iPad has also been added for creating and testing ads.

Apple recently upped the iAd revenue it gives to publishers from 60% to 70%. The mobile ad platform hasn't been picking up much traction, so Apple will likely continue to lower the barrier to entry as time goes on.

The newest version of iAd Producer for Mac can be downloaded on Apple's developer website. You will need to have an official developer account to get the app.
